I was initially employed by Macquarie University to set up and launch their student blog – MQ Scoop. Using a third-party WordPress Genesis Framework theme allowed me to quickly set up the blog while also meeting the content requirements, and also allowed me to easily customise according to brand guidelines.
Additional Details
For the few months that the blog was active following the launch in April 2020, I was responsible for publishing weekly posts whenever the students were ready with their writing. I also provided regular Google Analytics reports to stakeholders. I then looked at using a WordPress theme framework called WP Rig, as an option for rebuilding the theme for more control and customisation.
Additionally, I made a local development site for the blog to test how much I could change or add to the theme if a change was requested.
The blog is no longer available. It was not being updated and was not required for the University’s needs.
